Music & Events
Where acoustic music, community, and sanctuary come together.
Open Range Concerts
A House-Concert Kind of Evening
Open Range Concerts is an intimate, house-concert-style music series. Touring singer-songwriters and area musicians share an evening of original, acoustic music with a room of people who came to listen.
Our Sanctuary, Our Stage
The concerts are hosted by Faith United Church of Christ in International Falls. We open the acoustically beautiful space of our sanctuary so the community can share it with the artists who travel here. The music is original and secular, performed by professional singer-songwriters as well as area musicians.
Open Mic and Spoken Word Nights
Open Range also hosts Open Mic for Music and Spoken Word evenings. Area musicians and readers can share one to four selections in a safe, supportive setting. Most Open Mics follow a chosen theme, which gives performers a reason to stretch into new repertoire or revisit old favorites.
Acoustic Jam Sessions
Every Second Saturday
2:00 to 3:30 pm at the Faith United Education Building, second floor
How a Song Circle Works
We sit in a circle and take turns. Each person brings a song they want the group to play together, usually something with three or four chords so it is easy to follow along. If you are sharing a new one, bring printed song sheets, or pull it up on your iPad in the OnSong app.
All Skill Levels Welcome
Whether you have been playing for years or just want to come, listen, and share in the joy of making music together, you have a seat in the circle.
Support Open Range Concerts
Open Range Concerts is financed through grants and donations. Concert goers donate at the door. Those funds go directly to the traveling performers, helping cover their lodging and a performance fee.
